Fresh arrival the Jensen Haley is a British two beater convertible sports car which was the best selling Jensen of all time most were sold in the USA and Canada. A peaceful improvement on the clever design was converting from the ingenious 6v electrical system to 12v. Racing Jensen Motors ran a factory team to arrest the Sports Vehicle Club of America SPCA D Production Championship in 1973 and 1974. Such was the power of the Austin 7 name that the company re old it for early versions of the A30 in 1951 and Mini in 1959. My second many years later was a pretty 2003 silver Jaguar S Type, which has covered only 8,00 ems from fresh pictured.
Although it was a fresh car, the Jensen Haley went on to become one of the scanty cars in SPCA History to arrest a championship in its beginning year of racing 1973. The engine is the hemispherical head V8 designed by Edward Turner and first impaired in the Daimler SP250 sports car. The Swift 1190cc side valve 4 cylinder engine was fitted to a three speed gearbox and the chassis boasted four wheel brakes. It previously belonged to a local Fawkes Bay couple who are long time members of the Daimler and Manchester Owners Club of NZ and have been friends of Ian Hope for many years. 5 V8 250 is a four door saloon produced by The Daimler Company Limited from 1962 to 1969.
Ian recovered the car entire with a rag top that's seen better days it can be seen bundled into the boot and also a hard top. Coventry Climax were left with a number of engines from the Cadet model, which they old as the basis of their Second World War fire pump engine designated FM, the AM standing for Hasty Motors. In 1902 a segregate company was formed for motor vehicle production and registered as the Speedy Motor Company
