Ray Hutchinson bought the furnishing business in 1950 and in 1960 Hutchinson's moved to its present site in the iconic Spanish Mission style Hastings Municipal Buildings, just around the corner from the fabulous Hawke’s Bay Opera House. Ray’s son Bryan joined the family business in 1953 and purchased the business from Ray in 1969. While fashions and trends may have changed over the years a few things have remained constant, including the staff's dedication to providing excellent customer service. Hutchinson's pride themselves on providing top quality products at fair prices for their clientele in Hawke's Bay and throughout New Zealand.
