Innovative public art project brings new technology to the history of Hastings. Jess Soutar Barron says the idea is for people to discover the works and the icons they celebrate as they walk through the city. The project is supported by Creative Hastings,Hastings District Council and the Hastings City Business Association. Hastings was first settled in 1884, was declared a city in 1954 and became a district with the inclusion of Havelock North Borough and the Hawke’s Bay County Council in 1989.
