Kirsty, Gary and family welcome you to Waiwhenua Farmstay a genuine New Zealand farmstay, River Side Park and Trout Fishing Adventure experienced right here on our commercially run 410 hectare sheep, beef and deer farm. Hawkes Bay Farmstay Waiwhenua is set in the heartland of beautiful Hawke’s Bay situated less then an hours drive from Napier and Hastings cities or two hours drive from Waiouru in the central North Island Plateau. We are located on River Road accessed off the Napier Taihape Rd close to the Kaweka Forest Park and other trout fishing rivers. Many families and guests have enjoyed our hospitality and have had wonderful experiences and memories of their time on the farm.
Come and visit us at Waiwhenua and experience for yourself our wonderful farm, Cottages, River Park and the beautiful river full of rainbow trout. Our historic 120 year old homestead and garden can be explored whilst staying at Annies Cottage or the River Park. During your stay we can organise our specialist guides to take you on a memorable trout fishing adventure right here on our property. We only offer private access through the property for those anglers who stay at either the cottage or at our new river camp park.
These professional guides offer a full guiding service with either half or full day options. They provide service for all levels from learners to those wanting guidance and knowledge of the local rivers. Three other excellent trout fishing rivers can be accessed by short drives from Waiwhenua. Our guests experience a genuine farmstay on our extensive sheep, cattle and deer farm.
You will experience first hand the intricacies and workings of a commercial farm and attain knowledge to help you explore the farm at your leisure. The cottages at Waiwhenua are perfect places to explore the greater Hawkes Bay area other attractions within one hours drive include
clamping, Camping and RV Parking at the River Side Park or in the lovely Homestead Gardens. Our beautiful new River Park is now begin for summer camping, clamping and camper parking. Informative Farm Tour 20 hr 4 hours Extensive Tour up accessible and meet the animals' Sheep, Cattle and Deer 300. Relax unwind with some of the best farm stay accommodation, clamping and river camping in Fawkes Bay. There is enough of parking below the shade of the trees and you are welcome to use the facilities of the park whilst staying at the Park.
The river is accurate for a dip in hot weather or try your luck at fishing for lovely rainbow trout. We cater for families or individuals wishing to experience a slice of real Fresh Zealand farm life on our extensive sheep, cattle and deer farm. Our maximum popular walk is a stroll down the farm track through the heart of the farm to the river. For those just too important to get to the river we give a couple of sites in our lovely garden at the homestead.
Hastings cities finds Waiwhenua Farmstays River Side Park situated on the banks of the Tutaekuri River. There are also excess opportunities for guests to get up close with animals farmed by a more extensive farming tour option. In addition, we now have the beautiful fresh River Side Park for camping, clamping and short term stays for freedom travelers. The sheep policy on the farm is predominately breeding and fattening up until now but this year we are taking a fresh approach by growing lambs for the winter market.
